MEMORIAM PAGE RICH'S BIOGRAPHY |
Macalester Class of 1970 alumnus Rich Greenwood died of cancer in January, 2003. In his memory, weve established the Greenwood Music Fund to support Macalester music majors having 1) the greatest financial need and 2) an unusually high level of talent. You can help us remember Rich Greenwood and continue his legacy of outstanding musical composition and performance, by making a donation to the Greenwood Music Fund. Contributions are tax-deductible. The concert will include a Tribute to Rich, recorded and live versions of some of his material, from the Greenwood-Curlee-Clyde 1971 album One Time, One Place and his 1993 Professor CD, Blue Jay, as well as the song Spring Thaw, which appeared on Harvests album. Live bands include a reunion of Richs contemporaries: John Curlee, performing "Changes" from the Greenwood-Curlee-Clyde LP; Mushroom reunion (Tommy Wiesner and John Katsantonis, with Jeff Schroeder and Nate Bucklin); Foxglove drummer Gary "Chip" Wood; the complete Freeland line-up, including Dave Cushing, Steve Keyes, Boz Metzdorf and Doug Rymerson; and the legendary Max Swanson, on woodwinds. Be prepared to purchase One Time, One Place, Blue Jay and a ton of faves and surprises from your favorite Mac musicians, including original material recorded over recent years, and the LIVE CD of The Bagdad-On-The-Subway-Municipal Swing Bands gig at the 1969 reunion dinner, in June 2004. |
